brother bill, uncle larry and aunt maggie spent much of the day at the hospital today. good news is that she's been taken off the respirator, and is breathing (with oxygen) ok. she still is in the ICU, but her pneumonia seems to be subsiding.
i flew out this afternoon and spent the evening with her. one good sign about her is that, again, she was very chatty. we talked about lots of things. she was still pretty weak, but she ate some liquid food. compared to what i hear about how she looked tuesday, she's doing quite well.
we're hoping tomorrow she will move to a regular floor of the hospital. whether she will become well enough to come home (with care) is still up in the air.
thanks for all your thoughts and prayers and calls and all.
feel free to post a comment. we'll read them to her. it's easy to do - just click on the word "comments" and you can easily post.
more later.
tom.

hello mom. it's tom. just showing people how easy it is to post.
love,
tom.
Hi! Marguerite, here. Just returned home myself after staying with my mother who had rotator cuff surgery yesterday. She needed someone to stay with her for the first 24 hours so we had a bit of a slumber party. She is in pain but in good spirits. Bill Dannemiller has been keeping me up to date on you. I have prayed for your comfort and healing, as well as for Tom and Bill who are such good sons (and cousins, too!), and your doctors and caregivers. I'm so glad Larry and Maggie were here to cheer you. What a happy coincidence. I will try to come for a visit Friday morning. Just let me know if you would prefer some solitude to a visitor. I find Tom's report of your "chattiness" to be a very good sign. You know, my father took his reponsibility to watch over his little sister very seriously. I think that's why Bill D. and I have an abiding commitment to filling in for him now. Rest up and I'll see you tomorrow!
HELLO Aunt Mary Frances! I am sorry to hear you are not feeling well and in the hospital. I know you are getting in a few laughs with Aunt Maggie and Uncle Larry telling some stories.
I wish I was in Akron to keep you company. I am keeping you in my thoughts. Hopefully I will see you in the beginning of May. Behave your orders in the hospital!
See you soon.
Love, Katie
OOOPS, sorry I came in as anonymous.....good lord you would think I could use a computer!! Let me try again.....
Hi Mary Frances - thinking of you from far away in Sao Paulo and praying for you to get well soon. And don't watch too much CNN and C-SPAN in the hospital, it's not good for the blood pressure!
Love - Tom
